CHOOSING A BLOG HOST FOR YOUR FIRST BLOG SITE
If you answered the six questions from the introduction or just thought about them you are half-way through creating your first blog page.
Now to find a blog host.
Here is a list of the more popular websites that will host your blog for FREE! Most of the following offer free webspace, templates, features so you can upload files, photos (some have video capabilities, like myspace.com), and many other features.
Don't become overwhelmed! There are step-by-step instructions, and no blog is permanent (we are all out there in space). So, if you don't like what you see, you can always either redo your web sign-in (not recommended but not abhored by most blog sites), or you can transfer/start over with another blog site (they expect this will happen).

Most questions will be addressed here. Personally, I find it much easier to just use what "pre-made" designs are available, most are located on-site.  http://www.gazzump.com/myspace-layouts/ also has myspace.com free layouts, backgrounds, etc...            http://www.wordpress.com              http://www.blogger.com

What is different about each of these sites? They cater to different audiences. About.com, online offers many answers, profiles and lists of features offered by these popular blog sites. It is too expansive to offer answers to all the features offered by each of these sites. I should say that some of these sites, like LiveJournal, were used mainly for text entry and photo storage initially, and have advanced to offer blog features.
Wordpress.com (my favorite) has the option of hosting your blog on their site with limited features (all of these free sites are limited in some capacity) in the number of templates, plugins, and uploads allowed.  It may be a good idea to first see what is offered. Advanced wordpress offers an install4free feature (which I used my first time, it was super, and fast communication from their support) - however it requires a blogger have a domain name, and a web hosting service that uses .php and sql.
Things are getting complicated. Initially, there are many terms, jargon. And the more popular a site, it seems, the more jargon is passed around. But, most words used have a definition, but not all are necessary to know in order to use the blog sites.
